Vicenza Propane 46,000 BTU Propane Patio Heater, in Heritage Bronze Finish

Midway between the more famous Verona and Venice lies the town of Vicenza. Standing guard over its central square and, the Piazza dei Signori, and adjacent Basilica, is the square-sided Clock Tower of Palladia. Lava Heat Italia’s Vicenza Square Dome Top Patio Heater is inspired by the look of this stone-clad treasure. Part of our new Value Line of patio heaters, this square-dome patio heater is short on price but not short on style or performance. You’ll see and feel the Lava Heat Italia quality from the 430-grade solid stainless steel rectangular base and all the way up to its extra-large single piece square dome. Just place and connect your 20lb propane (LP) tank (Tank not Included) in the roomy base, or attach the ten-foot quick connect natural gas (NG) line (Included with optional natural gas upgrade), attach the single piece square dome, use the included wheels to place your heater for maximum comfort, and you are ready to enjoy its 46,000BTUs of warming power. The large emitter in this Square Dome Top heater will send infrared heat in a 10 – 12ft radius all around. The Vicenza© Patio Heater generates infrared radiant heat rays which heat objects rather than the surrounding air, keeping you cozy and warm by the pool, spa or on your deck long after the sun goes down. Infrared heat provides efficient, clean burning performance and uses less fuel while providing ultimate comfort. The 3-inch diameter dome support means extra stability, too. The unit can be operated for up to 10 hours with a standard 20 lb. propane tank (not included). This unit comes partially assembled for minimized shipping costs and requires 1 AAA battery for its electronic ignition. And, of course, this CSA Certified heater has Lava Heat Italia’s signature Tilt Switch Auto-Shutoff for total safety. Commercial grade materials mean you get Lava Heat’s 3-year limited warranty. The Lava Heat Vicenza© ships in standard propane configuration or is also available with Natural Gas upgrade, which includes a free 10-foot quick connect gas line ($100 Value).

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Little or No Assembly – most Lava Heat Italia Patio Heaters arrive pre-assembled, avoiding many costly mistakes building and setting up your patio heater. Most commonly, Patio Heater manufacturers package regulators, hoses, and burners separately, leaving the safety and performance in the hands of the end-user.

Most common problems with malfunctioning patio heaters are a result of a faulty assembly, and setup. As a result, it is recommended to be installed by a professional patio heater installer. Lava Heat Italia eliminates many of the problems and confusion in assembly, and malfunctioning operation resulting there of.

Protected Burner Unit – exposed burner units can fall victim to build-up and corrosion, not to mention pests, spider webs, dirt, dust, rust and more. With many small mechanical parts, patio heaters are vulnerable to a number of unexpected issues that limit performance or render them un-usable. Lava Heat Italia flame heaters protect the burner mechanical parts within the borosilicate glass tube, preventing these un-expected issues. The main ignition rests inside a steel housing base, in a much shorter range than “top-burning” mushroom style patio heaters, increasing efficiency, and reducing the need for long gas-filled hoses. Ultimately, this practice results in an extended life many times greater than competing models.

Ceramic Honeycomb Burner Insert – the well-crafted Ceramic Honeycomb insert allows for an even flame distribution through the borosilicate glass tube. This results in an even heat, eliminating hot spots. The balanced mount centers the flame within the glass tube, reducing the chance of carbon build-up, while also allowing the flame to move freely, creating a “dancing” look.

Balanced Weight Distribution – an innovation from mushroom style patio heaters, Lava Heat Italia flame tower heaters are designed with even weight distribution. Mushroom style heaters tend to be “top-heavy”, with heavy burner, emitter, and reflector parts residing in the top portion of the heater. Lava Heat Italia flame heaters spread heavy parts in a better distribution, eliminating the “top-heavy” nature of Patio heaters.

Easy Ignition – Burners assembled in Lava Heat Italia patio heaters are refined through use, and are always being improved to provide the highest in energy-efficiency standards available on the market. As a result, Lava Heat Italia burners ignite easily, more often, with less trouble. Inferior mushroom style heaters require as many as 20 attempts before the heater is properly lit, where as Lava Heat Italia heaters lite nearly every time, and on advanced models, with the single touch of a remote control button.

Long Lasting Electrostatic Powder Coating – professionally applied electrostatic powder coating finishes last many times longer than dipped or painted finishes. Powder Coated finishes from Lava Heat Italia resist scratches, chips, peeling, and prove to be highly weather resistant and rust resistant.

Portability with Wheel Kits – with optional wheel kits, Lava Heat Italia patio heaters can be moved in location and out of location easily during off-season, or if they are not in use. With an even weight distribution, as opposed to mushroom styled patio heaters, Lava Heat Italia patio heaters can be used by rental companies, and commercial venues on-demand. Where mushroom styled patio heaters fall apart, Lava Heat Italia heaters remain strong and durable to continue for many more years of use.

Advantages of Stainless Steel Manufacturing:

1. Easy to clean and maintain - Stainless steel does not absorb dirt; in fact, it actually resists smudges, fingerprints and scuff marks relatively easily, making it very easy to clean and maintain. The surface can be protected with a cleaner to preserve its smooth, sleek and shiny surface.

2. Long life span - Stainless steel does not fade or become discolored over time. It's also a rust-proof and stain-resistant material, so it will maintain its shine and preserve all of the aesthetic qualities of your patio heaters for several years to come.

3. Does not harbor germs - Because stainless steel is non-porous, it resists bacteria and germs more effectively than wood or plastic surfaces. Stainless steel can be wiped clean with a disinfectant cleaner after use, and is an attractive option for homes with young children and pets or for anyone who wants to keep their living areas as clean and immaculate as possible.

4. Aesthetically pleasing - Stainless steel appliances can complement almost any home design and theme, and the sleek, gleaming metallic finish can be balanced out with wood or plastic accents.

Triangular Frame Design

Triangles are inherently strong because they form a fixed rigid shape. This can be demonstrated by building a triangle out of garden canes, securing the corners with rubber bands. The shape is fixed by the length of the sides and the triangle withstands quite substantial forces applied to it.

However if you built a square in the same way, a gentle push at one corner could easily change the shape into a parallelogram. There are infinitely many four-sided shapes with equal sides, a square is just one of them, and so the shape is easily transformed from one to the other with minimal force.

A square lacks the rigid strength of a triangle. But by adding diagonal bracing, a technique most clearly seen in bracing cranes or scaffolding, the structure can again rely on the strength of a triangle to hold its shape.

Anti-Tilt Safety Switch

Mercury switches have one or more sets of electrical contacts in a sealed glass envelope which contains a bead of mercury. The envelope may also contain air, an inert gas, or a vacuum. Gravity is constantly pulling the drop of mercury to the lowest point in the envelope. When the switch is tilted in the appropriate direction, the mercury touches a set of contacts, thus completing the electrical circuit through those contacts. Tilting the switch the opposite direction causes the mercury to move away from that set of contacts, thus breaking that circuit. The switch may contain multiple sets of contacts, closing different sets at different angles allowing, for example, single-pole, double-throw (SPDT) operation.

Advantages of the mercury switch over other types are that the contacts are enclosed, so oxidation of the contact points is unlikely. In hazardous locations, interrupting the circuit will not emit a spark that can ignite flammable gasses. Contacts stay clean, and even if an internal arc is produced, the contact surfaces are renewed on every operation, so the contacts don't wear out. Even a small drop of mercury has a low resistance, so switches can carry useful amounts of current in a small size. The sensitivity of the drop to gravity provides a unique sensing function, and lends itself to simple, low-force mechanisms for manual or automatic operation. The switches are quiet as there are no contacts that abruptly snap together. The mass of the moving mercury drop can provide an "over center" effect to avoid chattering as the switch is tilted. Multiple contacts can be included in the envelope for two or more circuits.

About Borosilicate Glass Tube

Borosilicate glass (aka Pyrex) is a type of glass that includes at least 5% boric oxide. The boric oxide makes the glass resistant to extreme temperatures, and also improves its resistance to chemical corrosion. This glass is very popular in the manufacture of scientific instruments, and it was once widely used to make glass for kitchens as well.

The glass is more likely to crack or snap than to shatter, however, making it safer to have around in a situation where breakage is a concern. In the event that products made with the glass do crack, it is generally easier and safer to clean up than shattered glass.
