Lurgan's Wood Adirondack Furniture is built with pressure treated, kiln dried, yellow pine lumber of a higher quality grade than what is found in a building supply store. Then it is milled again to attain a smooth clean surface. Includes hardware packets and easy assembly instructions.
The same great value Adirondacks you have seen at other stores, but better! Lurgan's pine furniture is made of a high-quality grade of pine lumber and is free of knots and other imperfections often found in lower-grade pine products. This is largely due to the fact that the pine is pressure treated, making this Adirondack furniture more suitable for outdoor use. All hardware for the Adirondack chair is also weather resistant, providing durability from outdoor weather.
THE FINISH:
You can choose unstained, or we offer it stained with wood sealer to help prevent aging & splitting. The weather resistant sealer has a beautiful honey gold appearance.
ASSEMBLY:
Easy to assemble, includes hardware packets and easy assembly instructions and the manufacturer pre-drills the holes for the screws and bolts so you know where each one goes. Lurgan Lawn Furniture spends a considerable amount of time with the pre-drilling to ensure everything goes together correctly.
CARE OF THE WOOD:
We recommend you use a top quality water sealer before putting outside. There is no definite answer for how often to seal it. Some water sealers offer a 3-5 year warranty, but we recommend, if your furniture will be directly out in the elements, to seal it once a year. If you have it on a porch or underneath a canopy you can possibly go 3 -5 years between applications. It might also only be necessary to apply a light coat to only those surfaces exposed directly to the weather, like table tops, seat tops, backs and so on.
GENERAL MAINTENANCE:
Periodically tighten all fasteners. Be careful not to over-tighten to avoid thread pull out. You may also want to lightly sand the surfaces, before your yearly water sealing, to smooth any uneven shrinkage or to remove any splinters. To revitalize a dingy appearance caused by dirt, use a deck cleaner.
LURGAN'S REAL WOOD:
Due to the process of switching to a new pressure treatment, we are currently using two different types of treatment. We had been using Wolmanized Natural Select but are now making the switch to Wolmanized L3 Outdoor Wood, a nonmetallic, carbon-based product.
MANUFACTURERS WARRANTY:
If the wood has been well taken care of, and water sealer applied as often as was necessary, Lurgan Lawn Furniture (manufacturer) will gladly replace any defective pieces, or pieces that show signs of unusual deterioration. We ask our customer to keep in mind that they will notice some checking, shrinking, and other variations over time. These and other characteristics of wood should be considered part of the beauty of wood.
