Bago Luma Architectural Logo Grille:
Using Old World craft methods, these fresh designs are then transformed into product that combines the best of both new and old. Iron rods and bars are painstakingly shaped by hand, using traditional, hand-forged methods that have been passed down for centuries. Pieces of iron are held in the fire until they become virtually white-hot. They are then placed on an anvil and hammered into shape, a process called “forging”. These individual shapes are welded together to create product that is as unique as the person who formed it. True wrought iron can be distinguished by its sensuous patterns and curves, and marks of the hammer and welding process are frequently evident. Small irregularities are usually apparent – and valued as evidence of the smith’s craft.
Finishing Touches
Bago Luma offers a multitude of hand applied finishes and selecting that finish is an important part of getting the look you want. Go wwarm and rustic with Natural Rust, or more industrial with Sheer Metal. If rustic elegance is your objective, try Florentine Gold. For a whimsical look, try one of the crackle colors. The five other fashion colors are Weather Resistant finishes, suitable for indoors or out. For large contract orders, custom finishing is available. To choose the finish of your product, add the code letter shown on the finishes below, to the end of the product code on your order.
All finishes are applied by hand, so minor variations are to be expected to give your piece its individual character. Finishes cannot be matched and there is no guarantee against further oxidation.
Finishes for Protected Areas:
These finishes have been used successfully for years both indoors and on covered patios.
Natural Rust - Deliberately oxidized and sealed, resulting in a variety of warm brown tones, accented with amber, nutmeg and black. Because its a natural process, texture and coloration will vary. The best selling finish.
Sheer Metal - Bare iron is clear coated, allowing colors and stress marks from manufacturing to show. This is a very industrial look, predominantly a muted silver tone with black and brown accents.
Finishes for Indoor Areas:
Florentine Gold - Soft gold sponged over Natural Rust, resulting in a more elegant look.
Crackle Colors - Product is treated to an aging technique that gives the piece added charm. Top color is forced to crack and peel, exposing brown color below. Occasionally, small amounts of oxidation will seep through the color, generating areas with yellow / brown accents.
Crackle finishes available in: White, Squash, Green and Red.
Finishes for Indoor & Outdoor use:
These new "Weather Resistant" finishes are specifically designed to inhibit rust in areas with excessive moisture, but are as appropriate for indoor use as outdoors.
Indoor and Outdoor finishes available in: Chestnut Brown, Autumn Gold, Spanish Moss, Summer Nights, and Red Clay.
